		<description>All I know is I lived in a very gay part of town during a wave of gay hate crimes ages ago and I remember walking down the street, very close to my gay friends in some misguided attempt to protect them (the thinking was they would not be hurt if they were seem with a female - I was young).&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Is life safer now for them? I hope so. I really hope so.</description>
